If you've always wanted to learn how to play guitar like me, don't hesitate to book lessons with Walker; he'll get you there. I tried teaching myself how to play the instrument for a couple of years, but self-doubt and frustration with a lack of progress left me thinking I simply wasn't capable. As a last-ditch effort, I figured I'd give lessons a shot, and man, was I lucky I chose Walker as my teacher. In just a couple of weeks, we had far surpassed everything I taught myself in the past couple of years, and I genuinely believe now that I can accomplish my dream of learning guitar. Plus, Walker's an all-around good dude who feels more like a friend than a teacher. He's funny, patient, supportive whenever I get frustrated, and wildly talented. If you want to start guitar, or if you’re like me and you want guitar to stick this time, hit Walker up!! He is Chicago based but he also does remote lessons, which has been great for when I travel. Walker is seriously the best! He has a very personalized approach to teaching and he has tailored our lessons to songs, styles and techniques that I want to learn. I came in with the big goals of learning how to sing and play at the same time and how to fingerpick effectively and he got me doing both of those things way sooner than I expected. One of the best things about Walker is his genuine enthusiasm for guitar, music and life. He is always bringing in great, fun energy. My experience with Walker is a little different in that I do not play guitar nor do I take guitar lessons from him. I make music on Ableton, but my ability to finish a song has been lacking for many moons. I contacted Walker to see if he would be willing to give me lessons on general music theory/song writing/mixing and mastering, and help me figure out why I have been working on music for so long without achieving the desired results. After six months of lessons, I am so much happier with my music and just wish I would have reached out to Walker sooner. Walker is a great teacher, who has something to offer anyone who wants to get better at music - irrespective of experience and talent level.
