The teachers (Alan and Gwen) are fantastic with adults and children alike. I had lessons from Alan for just over a year to relearn how to play piano after a 30 year lapse. He was great at meeting me where I was and picking out music I enjoyed. My 2nd grader continues to take guitar lessons from him. Alan is great at making the lessons really fun, and at motivating kids to practice. From sitting in the waiting room, I have heard Gwen teach a couple different kids piano & voice and she is also wonderful with them too. Highly recommend this studio if you want a personalized approach that ensures learning how to make music is joyful.

Not only do Gwen and Alan run an excellent music program, they are also wonderful humans too. As a musician, I understand how hard it is to teach and keep interest in certain aspects of music like technique, reading, and theory to young children. They do it in a way which can appeal to a wide range of experience from the casual learner or beginner to a more serious musician wanting a traditional foundation. At the end of each session, the students are able to perform in front of their family, friends, and peers at a local music venue. In addition, I have heard higher level student partake in traditional recitals. The bottom line is this studio is a quality one size fits all place!

I can’t speak more highly of Major Keys Music Studio! My son has been taking piano lessons with Alan for several years and has made huge strides in his ability and creativity surrounding music. Alan is fun, patient and gracious with our often rambunctious 8 year old- and teaches in a way that makes it exciting to learn. Alan and Gwen’s passion for music is infectious- they are excellent musicians and teachers- and we are so grateful that we found them for our son to learn from.
