I first took lessons with Dr. Irina in high school, and even though I was unaware of it at the time, she started a whole new path for what I wanted to do with my career. She urged me to step outside my comfort zone, while still cultivating skills and working on pieces that interested me. She maintains a great balance of working on what you want, and what she thinks will challenge you and will help you grow. Without her creative methods for conveying basic music theory in a personalized way for me to understand, and her constant pushing for me to practice and do better for myself, I don't think I would have anywhere close to the love of singing that I do now. I was a student of Dr. Irina's for just over a decade, and she is an amazing teacher. She taught me how to work hard, stay focused, and truly appreciate music. Under her guidance, I improved more than I can imagine and was eventually able to pass the Royal Conservatory of Music Level 10 exam. She’s extremely knowledgeable, and really cares about her student’s growth. Thanks to her, I’ve become a skilled pianist and a hard worker, and developed a lifelong love for music. Dr. Irina is a wonderful piano teacher and mentor. She is well versed in the fundamentals of learning piano such as theory, technique and more. Dr. Irina is patient, motivational, has the ability to explain concepts clearly, and adapt to the student's needs. She has a very broad musical knowledge and is enthusiastic about teaching. My son’s piano skills have improved significantly since he started lessons with Dr. Irina!
