I highly recommend Dan Trent as a guitar teacher. I have been playing guitar for myself since I was a teenager, with just a handful of lessons way back. Now in my latter years, I have ventured into playing bluegrass with people, and am motivated to get much more serious about music via the guitar. Happily, I met Dan at a jam, where it was immediately clear that he is a superb player - and a teacher! I have been taking weekly lessons with Dan for about five months now, and it has been fantastic. When we began, he listened carefully to what my personal goals are for the guitar and has been 100% responsive to them. I want to (finally) learn about music theory, how to apply it to improvisation during solo breaks during jams, improve my overall rhythm and soloing technique, and learn some blues

My 8-year-old son started taking guitar lessons a few months ago with no prior experience, and I couldn’t be happier with his progress. His teacher is incredibly kind, patient, and understanding—exactly the kind of person you want working with kids. He creates a comfortable learning environment that keeps my son motivated and excited to learn. In just a short time, I’ve seen significant improvement in both my son’s playing and his confidence. If you’re looking for a guitar teacher who truly connects with children and helps them grow musically and personally, I highly recommend Daniel Trent!

He inquired about my goals for a guitar education and we discussed my desire to learn guitar theory and read music in addition to learning to play. He has tailored lessons to address all these goals and, as an excellent instructor will do, opened doors for my discovery and appreciation of different musical genres and listening techniques. Lessons and concepts progress thoughtfully, but not rigidly, and allow for spontaneous side excursions into related concepts or theory. I have left every weekly lesson having learned and improved in some manner. It is a wonderful and truly enjoyable thing. I highly and without reservation recommend Daniel Trent and H
