My 14yo daughter dreamed of playing guitar for four years. We got her a guitar and online lessons during COVID but she quickly got bored and discouraged. This year, when she mentioned guitar again, I knew we had to invest in something engaging and I knew exactly who she needed to teach her. Joe is unlike any instructor or coach our family has worked with. The mayhem method and curriculum got my daughter strumming chords and songs so much quicker than we anticipated. In just 30 minutes each week, she learns a new technique, hones what she’s been taught the week before, and gets a sprinkle of music theory. The pace is perfect! And Joe’s patience, feedback and encouragement has helped my daughter’s confidence and skills grow. She is so proud and amazed my her accomplishments that she honest

My son has been jamming with Joe for 15 years- he began after he took up the drums in Jr high school and he is now 31! The lessons of dedication to craft(practice!), accountability and even insistence of timeliness helped shape our son into the person he is today- as much as any teacher in jr high school, high school or college! Our thanks to the Maestro Schertz for instilling the love of music in Andrew- something he holds dear to this day. ( To go back and jam with Joe all these years later is a BONUS!)

School of Music and Mayhem provides fun and educational music lessons while getting you rocking right away. Joe is a great instructor with lots of musical experience. At the School of Music and Mayhem you can learn and grow as a musician in all ways from guitar or drum lessons to the songwriting process and making your own music. Joe is also a great guitar mechanic who has helped me set up and prepare new guitars. School of Music and Mayhem provides a great atmosphere to develop as a musician.
