My experience learning in a professional environment with plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning was such an insightful, inspiring experience. My mentor Derek showed me what I was truly capable of throughout my time in the program; he showed me how to utilize my basic understanding of music production to produce final products that I could truly be proud of for which I am grateful. My passion for creation has deepened after my time learning in the studio because I am much less intimidated by the intricacies of music production as a science. The experience I had in a real professional studio is certainly irreplaceable, the authentic on-the-job experience is by far the best way to learn what you can achieve. One of my favorite things about being in the Recording Studio is once a month, we bring a band into the studio to record a few songs, in front of 15-20 guests in the live room to watch the performance. Best of all, we film the entire thing and release the video and audio online for free. It’s a brilliant marketing strategy that my Recording Connection mentor came up with.

I’ve partnered with another Recording Connection grad to start our own music production company and we’re producing yet another RC graduate in the studio (a hip-hop artist named Blak Pope, who is paving his own way as an up-and-coming music producer and artist. So glad I made the choice to attend Recording Connection.
