Dr. Chen is not only an accomplished pianist herself, but also a passionate and patient piano teacher. She makes the lessons fun and engaging, but is strict when necessary to keep the quality of the lessons high. My daughter started taking lessons from Dr. Chen when she was 5 years old. As a young kid, there were some days when she had difficulty paying attention. Dr. Chen always expertly accommodated her and made the lessons successful. She also arranges recitals twice a year to give her students opportunities to perform in front of an audience at a decent venue. It has motivated my daughter to practice more and kept the piano playing exciting. I am very grateful that my daughter started her first piano lessons with Dr. Chen and would recommend her to anybody at all skill levels.

Dr Chen is a great piano teacher and I highly recommend her. She comes to your house for weekly lessons. I am an adult, taking lessons myself, and had no prior piano experience. I played the drums when I was in high school and college, so I was not new to music. I was concerned about being bored with the basics at the beginning, but Dr Chen was great at adapting to what I already knew. She is guiding me going through multiple lesson books and is judicious in choosing which songs to focus on and perfect, which songs to do quickly, and which songs to skip, based on my skills and how I'm progressing.
