I run a music production program in New Britain for the youth. I wanted to give the kids some studio time to see what the experience consisted of. I worked out the details with Phil from Silk City - he was extremely accommodating in planning the details throughout the whole process. Silk City Music Factory has great atmosphere; very clean and cozy. Phil was nothing but phenomenal. The kids recorded a track in progress, and Phil was extremely patient and welcoming during the process. He was always willing to stop and explain his order of operations to the musicians-in-training during the session. On top of that, the final product was very well mixed and treated. To be able to go so in depth with his process to the kids, he obviously has a firm grasp on his craft. I would highly recommend

I’ve been coming to this studio since 2019, and now in 2025, I feel like it’s finally time to speak up. After all these years, I kept hoping things would change—that maybe one day, someone would ask how I’m doing, take a real interest in my growth, or even just show a little appreciation for my loyalty. But that day never came. From the start, it’s always felt very transactional. You walk in, press a button, hand over your money, and that’s it. No warmth, no personal connection, no sense of community. And for a place that’s supposed to be about music and creativity, it feels surprisingly empty—like the passion has been replaced by routine, and the artists are just clients, not people. It’s not about wanting special treatment. It’s about basic human decency. A simple conversation, a check

Silk City Music Factory is the best studio around and the only one I would recommend going to. Phil Mann is the best producer I have worked with. He doesn't change your vision and helps not only add to your masterpiece but makes it come to life. He is patient, kind, helpful, and a great listener. If your looking to go someone to create the best sound possible you won't be disappointed with Silk City. Phil has changed my life and I couldn't be more grateful! 10/10
