Ray is the best. He is patient, kind and pushes you to do your best. He is also a vocal coach who consistently I interacts with you to sharpen vocals. He will not let you leave with an ok track. It has to be great. He knows how to get you confident, sure of yourself and calm because he is funny and has no problem working with non-singers as well as professionals. I am a non-singer and I went to Ray after trying other's. Ray made me sound like a real singer. My family and friends are amazed and can't believe that's me. Ray has outstanding equipment, guitar. Piano and uses imagery to get you to feel what you should be thinking when singing word by word (if needed, I did). He is flexible and will work with you as long as you are up to it. I only use Ray for recording vocals now because he is truly excellent at what he does. With decades of experience, he is exceptionally skilled at vocal production. I have gotten some of my best vocal performances while recording at this studio. Ray approaches every project with integrity, honest, and lots of hard work. He has a fantastic ear and sense of humor, so working with him is easy and stress-free. I have been composing music my whole life but to record music, have someone engineer your session and understand your vision is very hard to find. I love someone straight forward who's got a good ear to tell me, this line you sang didn't sound good, not enough emotion, or too much... Or this piano part you played was not tight with the click but I can fix that really easy! And this is what Ray did for me, he took the time to talk to me, understand my goals and not only he provided me with high quality recordings but all the while, he coached me to project the very best version of ME! Great studio, warm atmosphere, relax. Ray is the nicest guy and so multi-talented himself. Great experience. Will definitely remain a dedicated customer for my recording, mixing and mastering needs.
